Each year as Christmas draws near, we are approached with questions concerning Christmas at Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage and Grandma's House. We would like to address some of the more frequently ask questions.
Q.
Can we send gifts to the children or grandmas?
A.
Yes. The children and grandma love to receive gifts from their sponsors. They also love to receive pictures and letters.
Q.
Can we just send extra money for
Christmas and let Pastor Joseph purchase the gifts for us?
A.
Absolutely. Just send the extra money to Only Believe Ministries by November 25, 2009 and let us know what the money is for (ex: toys, clothes, whatever the needs are). We will wire the money to Pastor Joseph with instructions of what to purchase.
Q.
How early should I send the gifts?
A.
You probably need to send the gifts in by mid November. This should get the gifts there by Christmas. The earlier the better.
Q.
Do we give the gifts to Only Believe Ministries to mail, or do we mail them ourselves?
A.
You mail the gifts yourself.
Q.
Is it Ok to put cash or checks in the cards or gifts we send?
A.
No. Never. It will be stolen before it reaches Pastor Joseph or the children. If you ever want to send extra money to your grandma, child or Pastor Joseph's ministry, send it to us and let us know what it is for. We will wire it to Pastor Joseph and it will go directly into his account. That is the only way to ensure they will get the money. We will then e-mail Pastor Joseph that the money has been wired and pass along what the money is to be used for.
Q.
What address do we send gifts and or letters to.
A.
Send all gifts and letters to:
Christ Fellowship Ministries
Rev. Joseph Matcha
Post Box 129
Kakinada, East Godavari Dist.
A.P. South India - 533001
Q.
Can we take gifts or letters from the sponsors with us when we go to India in January?
A.
No, we cannot. Due to the new weight restrictions for luggage, it is not possible for us to do so.
Q.
What kind of gifts should I send?
A.
Toys are good such as coloring books and crayons, balls, stickers, toothbrushes, combs, hair ribbons, toy cars and trucks, small stuffed animals, etc. Small items are better because they do not have a lot of space to store things in.
Do not send electronics. Our electrical plugs don't work over there. Battery games are not good either because they do not usually have extra money to buy batteries.
Simple board games or puzzles would also be good.
It is difficult to send clothing due to the fact of knowing the right size. The children are smaller than what you think and it would be difficult to send clothing and have it to fit your child. If you want them to have new clothing it is probably better to send money and allow Pastor Joseph and Sony to purchase their clothes and shoes.
The widows need bedding, clothes, vitamins, some of the newer ones probably need a mattress which can be purchased over there for around $50.00.
If you have any questions that have not been addressed, contact us and we will get back to you quickly.
God Bless you all!
