Just as it happened with Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage and Grandmas house, God has once again revealed another opportunity for ministry.  During our visit this year Angie became aware of the many women and girls forced into prostitution in the rural areas and also in the city of Kakinada, where our hotel is.  Upon our arrival back home Angie wrote Sony, Pastor Joseph's wife concerning the plight of these women.  Sony told her that for seven months she had been praying about a way to help the women caught up in a life of prostitution.

She would like to give them safe shelter and also means to become self sufficient away from prostitution.  She has several ideas, among them are: a sewing center, dry-fish business, learning embroidery, and how to use hand looms.  Sony has a heart for these exploited women.  She said, "just as Jesus saved the sinful woman from being stoned, it is not His will that these exploited women in India perish."  Join us in prayer for a plan concerning when and how to proceed.

ENLARGING JAHNAVI'S HEART ORPHANAGE

We have mentioned in past newsletters how crowded the children are in the orphanage and I am pleased to announce that sufficient funds have come in to begin construction on a second storey to Grandmas House.  This second storey on the widow's home will house the older children .The money has been sent and construction should begin this month.  We send a big THANK YOU to Crossroads Bible Church for their funding of this project.

In addition to building the second storey, the kitchen also needs to be enclosed because the monkeys are causing them a lot of trouble.  Yes, you heard right, monkeys have moved into the forest behind the orphanage and they are causing all kinds of mischief.

In the near future we would also like to build a security wall around the property.  Thieves have tried to sneak on the property ad steal the ducks and chickens.  This has resulted in Joseph having to hire a security person to guard the property at night.

Neither the kitchen enclosure nor the security wall have received funding yet so we would ask you to pray with us for the financing to come in for them.  PRAYER WORKS!

NEW SPONSORS BEING ADDED

Several of the children now have two sponsors and the extra money will be used to ensure that all the needs of the children and the orphanage are met.  If you know of anyone who would like to sponsor one of the children, please have them contact us.  Below are four children of many who still need sponsors.  Contact us if you would like to sponsor one of these children.

GRANDMA'S HOUSE

The list of elderly widows hoping to move into Grandma's House continues to grow.  There are several widows waiting for sponsors.  It is possible to sponsor a widow for $48.00 dollars a  month or share the sponsorship with someone (of your choosing or we will find a co-sponsor) for $24.00 a month.  If you  know someone interested in being involved in missions, please pass this information along to them.

The program is quite a success as we see the vision God gave us for these elderly, forgotten  widows taking shape.  The ones living there now are full of hope and life.  We saw many smiles and received many thank you's from the grandmas. We would like to pass those thank you's to their sponsors.  Sony has told us that they feel like part of a family again.  They see Joseph and Sony as their children, and they see the orphans as their grandchildren.  Their health is very much improved.  In fact, when we gave a new picture to one of the sponsors, she did not recognize her widow.  She thought  perhaps her widow  had died and that she was given another one.  Her widow had been very weak and not expected to live when she was brought into Grandma's House.

Click on the images below to view just five of the twenty five widows who are waiting for a sponsor.  The widows cannot be moved into Grandma's House without a sponsor.  Currently many are living in the streets or under trees.

If you or someone you know would like to help one of these ladies by becoming their sponsor, contact us  by clicking here.

PASS THE WORD ALONG

If you have family or friends that would like an opportunity to get personally involved in missions at home and around the world,  let them know that like you they can become partners with Only Believe Ministries.

By partnering with Only Believe Ministries, they will be building churches in the remote villages of India, and supplying those villages with fresh water wells.  They will be teaching children how to read, write, pray and most importantly, teaching them about Jesus.  They will be meeting the needs of abandoned widows.  They will be providing emergency medical care and support for widows, pastors, children, and villagers.  They will help disaster victims and care for AIDS victims.  Most important though, they will be introducing them to a God who loves them and a Savior who died for them.
THE PASSING OF PASTOR JOSEPH'S MOTHER

Shortly after our return to the States this year, Hannah, Pastor Joseph's mother went home to be with our Lord.

Pastor Joseph tells us that she was the foundation for their Christian life.  She was the first in their family to become a Christian.  She was also a great prayer warrior.  He said that, "her eyes were always wet with tears and her knees torn by kneeling daily in prayers.  Her prayers lifted the family up and prepared them to be ministers."  He said that even when they were in great poverty growing up, with nothing to eat or drink, and no clothes to wear, she would not let them give up their faith.  He said, "Her prayers made us to be strengthened.  Today we lost my mother, but we know that she has a great reward and we will meet her one day in Heaven."
