Well, we made it back safe and sound just as we knew we would. No problems on this trip, praise the Lord. We say it every year and have to say it again....THIS WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER!
Where to begin? First of all this trip was special because we had wonderful team. Most of them were the same ones that go every year, Dr. Roger Price (our dear friend and mentor), we,the sisters ( Cindy, Terry, and Angie), Mickey Stanley (our dear friend), and Peggy Sisco (our dear friend and prayer warrior), but this year we were blessed by two newbies. Yes, our dear sister in the Lord, Sue Dismang came along with us this year as did our precious Pastor, Chad Everett. They rounded out the team quite nicely and wow, what a blessing they were to have along.
It is always fun when people go who have never gone before. We have talked about going to India for several years but words can't describe the place to do it justice. You have to visit there to truly appreciate it and get the picture. We believe Sue and Pastor Chad got the picture this year, and fell in love with India just as we have.
We started out this trip with a Pastor's Conference and a Women's Conference for the first three days. Pastor Chad and Dr. Price preached the Pastor's Conference and Cindy, Terry, Angie, Sue, and Peggy spoke at the Women's Conference.
The Women's Conference was for Pastor's wives, teachers and women in leadership. The theme was Women of Victory. The women were wonderful receiving the word with hunger and expectation.
The last day of the conference our team of women took time with each individual woman in attendance and prayed for each need. We were overwhelmed with the prayer requests or lack there of. Although these women face circumstances that most of us will never face, and have needs that most of us will never know, nearly all their requests were for one thing only. They ask that we pray for the salvation of their village. Very few ask for personal needs to be prayed for even though each woman faced great difficulty in their lives.
We were very humbled and honored to be in the presence of these mighty women of God. Please keep these ladies in your prayers. Our desire was to strengthen and encourage them, yet we were the ones strengthened and encouraged by them. They are truly remarkable.
Mickey went into the villages to gather information from village women regarding their physical and spiritual needs. Mickey is an RN who has a heart for healthcare in the villages. God has given her a vision for a medical clinic and a birthing center in this area someday. She is now gathering information in preparation and waiting on God to move in this area.
