The list of elderly widows hoping to move into Grandma's House continues to grow.  There are several widows waiting for sponsors.  It is possible to sponsor a widow for $48.00 dollars a  month or share the sponsorship with someone (of your choosing or we will find a co-sponsor) for $24.00 a month.  If you  know someone interested in being involved in missions, please pass this information along to them.

The program is quite a success as we see the vision God gave us for these elderly, forgotten  widows taking shape.  The ones living there now are full of hope and life.  We saw many smiles and received many thank you's from the grandmas. We would like to pass those thank you's to their sponsors.  Sony has told us that they feel like part of a family again.  They see Joseph and Sony as their children, and they see the orphans as their grandchildren.  Their health is very much improved.  In fact, when we gave a new picture to one of the sponsors, she did not recognize her widow.  She thought  perhaps her widow  had died and that she was given another one.  Her widow had been very weak and not expected to live when she was brought into Grandma's House.

Click on the images below to view just five of the twenty five widows who are waiting for a sponsor.  The widows cannot be moved into Grandma's House without a sponsor.  Currently many are living in the streets or under trees.

If you or someone you know would like to help one of these ladies by becoming their sponsor, contact us  by clicking here.

PASS THE WORD ALONG

If you have family or friends that would like an opportunity to get personally involved in missions at home and around the world,  let them know that  they can become partners with Only Believe Ministries.

By partnering with Only Believe Ministries, they will be building churches in the remote villages of India, and supplying those villages with fresh water wells.  They will be teaching children how to read, write, pray and most importantly, teaching them about Jesus.  They will be meeting the needs of abandoned widows.  They will be providing emergency medical care and support for widows, pastors, children, and villagers.  They will help disaster victims and care for AIDS victims.  Most important though, they will be introducing them to a God who loves them and a Savior who died for them.

THE CHILDREN

Unlike  the children of the United States, the children of India only get one month of Summer vacation.  Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage children returned to school in June.  During their vacation time, the children were able to travel  with Joseph and perform songs and dances at the meetings he had in neighboring villages.  Sony (Pastor Joseph's wife and Mercy (his sister-in-law) spent lots of time teaching the children FUN activities during there break as well.  Sony had this to say, " I am very excited to tell you that I and children had enjoyed vacation with some fun activities.  Girls had fun in painting and embroidery classes.  I and Mercy taught them to cook, and do crafts.  We all had fun."

The high school children received new back packs.  Thank you to all of the sponsors and partners who sent funds to purcase the backpacks.  They also received buckets.  We don't know what the buckets are for and there is no telling!   Ha!

Sony also said that they receive 2 boxes of gifts with toothpaste and crayons for the children.  She said the children were so happy when they received the gifts. Thank you to the ones who sent the gifts.

We also found out that some of the children were sick this summer with some kind of virus.  It spread rather quickly among the children, but all that were affected by it have recovered .  Praise the Lord.

Paka Anil Kumar (one of JHO's children)  fell and broke his little arm.  Joseph took him to the hospital and it was put into a cast.  He should be close to having the cast removed by now.

We want to send a special thanks to you sponsors and partners who send money each month to Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage.  Because of you, they are able to meet the emergency needs of the children when they arise.

CHRISTMAS - JUST AROUND THE CORNER

Christmas is coming soon and it is not to early to begin to send Christmas gifts to India for your children and Grandmas.  For those who send money, Joseph has 74 children and around 15 grandmas to purchase gifts for, so the earlier he receives the money, the better for him.

As in previous years we will be glad to wire money to Pastor Joseph so purchase gifts from the children and grandma's.  Postage to mail gifts is very expensive.  The children do however, love to receive gifts from America.  If you do decide to send a package for Christmas, click her for frequently asked questions .

CHILDREN STILL IN NEED OF A SPONSOR

We still have several children in need of a sponsor.  If you know of anyone that may be interested in becoming a sponsor, please direct them to this site.  The pictures below are four children in need of a sponsor but we also have several others to choose from.
ADDITION ONGRANDMA'S HOUSE

Construction work is continuing on the second story being built on top of Grandm's House.  It will be used mainly to house the older children of Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage.  Joseph and Sony have some concerns for the safety of the older girls.  They will be the ones using the new rooms.  In several of the villages nearby, men have been sneaking in huts and houses at night and kidnapping teenage girls.  The girls are then put in houses of prostitution and slavery.  Joseph feels the girls will be more protected sleeping on the second floor.  Safety is not the only issue, they just need more room for the children.  We started out with 24 children and now have over 70!

Joseph has sent us information that the first estimates for the building were not sufficient to complete the project.  An additional $4500.00 is needed.  Join us in prayer that these funds will come in quickly.   This would be a great project for a church or organization to get involved with.  If you know of anyone who would like to come on board and get involved in ministry, give us an e-mail and we will contact them.  God is so good and He always supplies what is needed for the widows and orphans.

THE WIDOWS OF GRANDMA'S HOUSE

The grandma's received their anual medical checkup during the month of July.  They are all doing well.  This is normally the monsoon season, but Joseph said the rains have not come yet.  The weather is still very hot which is very hard on the widows.   Thankfully, we were able to purchase fans  a while back because of our partners.  They help the situation and make the ladies a bit more comfortable.

REPORT FROM JOSEPH

"God has given rest and peace in our family after the death of my mother.  We are back to normal and looking forward to accomplishing the work assigned by God to me."

Joseph has been busy this summer conducting open air meetings.  He conducted meetins in the Kirshna District with 350 in attendance.  The next night he conducted a youth meeting with 150 young people showing up.  God has been opening up new aeas for Pastor Joseph to minister in and he has been busy traveling and spreading the Gospel.  He is perfroming Christian marriages in Hindu villages and uses those opportunies to preach.

Joseph said, "This year I desire to touch 200 people and bring them unto salvation, and give them baptism.  Until now I had given 110 baptisms, so please pray for more and more people to be saved."  Also each month they are holding 24 hour prayer and fasting meetings for ministry growth in every direction in India.  Please keep Joseph, his family and his ministry teams in you prayers.
OBM ATTENDS "BE IN HEALTH " CONFERENCES

In June and again in August we had the opportunity to travel to Thomaston, Georgia to attend 80 hours of teaching on the spiritual roots behind disease.  These were llife changing meetings for us.  "Be In Health" is a well established ministry that has been teaching the principles of health according to scripture for over  25 years.  We brought back tons of valuable information that we will be able to share with people in our area in the near future.

We heard testimonies from many people that were cured of numerous diseases that the medical profession call "incurable."  This information takes what the Bible has to say about the roots and causes of disease and explains how a person's emotional and spiritual condition along with sin in their life, opens the body up to disease.  "Be In Health" has discovered that 80% of all diseases have a spiritual root behind it.  When that spiritual issue is taken care of, the body will come in line with the Word of God and be healed.

We are excited because, as we have begun to apply these principles in our own lives, we see first hand that they do bring about healing.  God has given us the answer in His Word!  Thank You, Lord!
