Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage
Second Anniversary!!!

September marked the second anniversary of Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage.  Praise the Lord!!  My How time flies!  It seems like only yesterday we received the profiles of the first children that would soon make us the J.H.O. family.

We started out with 43 children.  We began praying that God would send us supporters for each child and one by one the sponsors stepped out.  The number of children continued to grow, and by our last visit in January 2008, our family had grown to 63 children.  What a blessing!

The end of August brought news of 11 more children. This brought the total to 74.  To date, all except three have a sponsor and have been moved into J.H.O.

Pastor Joseph and Sony had a party for the children celebrating their second year as a family.  They had a talent show with the children performing songs for each other as well as village elders.  They also had games and a large cake for the children to enjoy.

Pastor Joseph reports the children are growing and thriving.  They all send their love to their supporters.  They asked us to tell you, thank you.   They also want you to know they pray for you every day.

We, at Only Believe Ministries also thank you.  You are being used mightily by the Lord.

Grandma's House

Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage is not the only place that is growing in India.  We have just received news that 25 widows will soon be added To Grandma's House.  The widow pictured is Gogu Masenamma.  Her husband died whenshe was young.  She struggled to raise her son.  Her son grew up and married and he and his wife cared for Gogu.

Not long ago her son died and his wife moved to another village, leaving Gogu alone.  The villagers called Gogu cursed because both her husband and her son died.  No one in the village would help or care for her for fear the "curse" would come to them.

One day, Pastor Joseph's brother was visiting Gogu's village.  He found her sick and alone.  He took her to the hospital.  When she became strong enough to be released he brought her to Grandma's House.  Gogu is in need of a sponsor along with 24 other widows.  Some of the other widows are living under the trees with no one to care for them.   Gogu has already been brought into Grandma's House but the other widows have not due to a lack of funding.  They each need a sponsor.  Please pray with us for sponsors to come forward quickly as their winter months and monsoon season is quickly approaching.
Bursting At The Seams!!!

Due to the population explosion of Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage and Grandma's House, we now have a dilemma.  Where to put seventy four children and thirty four grandma's is the question of the day?  It is a good problem to have, but a problem nevertheless.  Thankfully, God has the answer.  He just has not shared it with us yet!

There is property available for sale right next to Pastor Joseph's property.  Finances are needed to purchase this property, which is quite expensive.  It will take over $17,000.00.  We ask that you would join with us in prayer for this land.  God is our provider and since the day this ministry began, He has shown Himself strong, always providing when there is a need.  He is never early and never late, but always right on time.

We thank you prayer warriors, for lifting this need to Him with us.

Again I say unto you that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father, who is in heaven.  Matthew 18:19

Simple Birthing Kit Assembly Day

We are excited!  The first Birthing Kit Assembly Day was held on October 18.  It was hosted by our own Crossroads Bible Church.  The youth group of our church assembled 500 kits.  It was a great day and fun was had by all.

The birthing kits will be sent to India, where Pastor Joseph will have them distributed throughout the fishing villages.  This is a great opportunity for groups to get involved in missions.

The Simple Birthing Kits consist of a piece of plastic to be placed under the mother as she is giving birth, a pair of plastic gloves, a sterile scalpel blade to cut the umbilical cord, gauze pads to clean the mother and baby, anti- bacterial soap, and string to tie off the cord.   All of these items are placed into a zip lock bag.  These simple items will save many lives in India.

Thank You Crossroads Bible Church Youth Group for helping us with this project.

We also thank Tom and Lori Oxford and Tracy Brinkley for cooking a delicious lunch for everyone.
Ministry Needs Met

We would like to praise the Lord for some ministry needs which were listed in our last newsletter that have been bet.

Emergency Medical Funds:  Funds come in to pay for Ganta Bapuji (one of the orphans) to have his tonsils taken out.  He has had the surgery and is doing will.  Praise the Lord!

We also had extra funds come in to pay for the medical expenses of a Pastor and his wife who were hit while riding their motorcycle.  They were on their way to do ministry work and were struck by a large truck driven by a drunken driver.

Financing to build the second storey on to Grandma's House has also been pledged.  Three rooms will be added to house the growing orphan children.  Praise the Lord!

We also had a donation come in from one of our sponsors to purchase some playground equipment for Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage!  A large swing set has been ordered for the orphanage.  The swing set is expected to arrive anytime and the children are so excited.  We also had 94 jump ropes donated and we will be sending them over shortly!

We thank you so much for your prayers and support.
