A GROWING FAMILY!

We have just received the profiles of nine new children who are waiting for their place at Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage.  Each new child is in need of a sponsor.  Sponsorship is $24.00 a month per child.  Please contact us if you are interested in supporting one of these children.  The children are pictured on the right and can be viewed by clicking on the individual thumbnails. 

Our family is growing!!!! Praise the Lord!  Our space however, is not.  We need to add on some rooms to accommodate the children.  Once these nine new children have joined the family, the total children will by 74! Please pray with us, that God will provide the finances needed to build on.  Right now it looks like it will take at least $12,000.00 to build the additional rooms.  Our God is big and we know He has a plan so we walk by faith and not by sight.  Thank you again for praying.

JAHNAVI'S HEART ORPHANAGE

The children have had their summer break and are now refreshed and back to their studies.  Four of the children have been promoted to highschool.  They are: Bharathi, Venkata Laxmi, Prasad, and Ganta Bapuji.  There are not nineteen children attending high school.  Keep in mind that the Indians call grades sixth through twelve, highschool. 

The children had their regular medical check up.  Their ears were cleaned out, and they were given vitamins and their weight was checked.  All the children are doing well with the exception of a few.  Ester Rani had been complaining of severe headaches. and Maria had a bad tooth ache.  So, Esther had her eyes checked.  She now has new glasses and no headache!  Maria is now minus a tooth!  Ouch!

Ganta Bapuji was also suffering from a severe case of tonsillitis.  He needed surgery to have his tonsils removed.  Thanks to some generous supporters, the money has now been sent for the surgery.

The girls have started health and personal hygiene classes, while the boys are learning electrical skills.  They are also learning to operate the PA system.  They are taking care of the sound systems and the electrical wiring.

The children also go to village meetings and testify how God has changed their lives. Not only that, they also have their own choir and sing at various church services!

The children continue to thrive and we thank your for your continued prayers and support.

Grandma's House

We receive some sad news from Grandma's House.  It seems that one one of the widows has become very ill.  The doctors have not given her much hope and distant family members have arrived, insisting that she come with them so she can be buried in their village.  They were allowed to take her although the widow did not want to go.  There were also some villagers who came after another widow.  She was forcibly taken from the home because the villagers said that she should not be living in a Christian home.  She did not want to leave, but was eventually went with them to keep them from causing more trouble.  The good news is, during her time at Grandma's House she was saved and has become an intercessor.  Please keep her in your prayers.

We have also received news from Pastor Joseph that there are other widows waiting to come and live at Grandma's House.  We have not received the profiles on these ladies yet, but will let you know as soon as we get them. 

A widow is sponsored for $48.00 a month.  This sponsorship amount only covers the bare minimum of food clothing and medical treatment.  Much medication and doctor visits are required for these ladies because of their weakened condition.  Please keep the widows of Grandma's House in your prayers. 

Pastor Joseph reports that the widows are very happy and enjoying the children.  The children are helping with the widows and relationships are building.  This was the vision God gave to us and it is a blessing to see it come to pass. 


Simple Birthing Kits

Simple Birthing Kits is the newest project of Only Believe Ministries.  The birthing practices of the villages in India result in a very high immortality rate for infants and mothers as well.  It is not uncommon practice for the child to be born on the ground or a table in a hut with a sharp rock being used to cut the umbilical cord. Old and dirty rags are used to clean up the infant and the mother often resulting in infections which can cause death.  The simple birthing kits are designed to create a more sterile birthing environment.  Each kit will contain a piece of plastic for the mother to lay on,  a scalpel blade to cut the cord,  a piece of cord to tie off the umbilical cord, plastic gloves,  gauze pads to clean the baby and the mother, and antibacterial soap.  These items will then be placed in a Ziploc bag.  The kits will be assembled by church groups or other organizations here in the United States and then shipped to to Christ Fellowship Ministries for distribution in the villages.

Ministry Needs

We've been asked to include ministry needs in our newsletter.  The following is a list of the needs at the current time.  Please pray with us that God would move in these areas.

1.To build a second storey on Grandma's House to accommodate the population growth of the orphanage.

2.To purchase one acre of land directly behind Pastor Joseph's property so the ministry can continue to expand.  They are our of room.

3.Emergency medical funds to cover emergency treatment for the children, widows and villagers.  These funds would be set aside to pay for emergencies and surgeries such as the one that was needed by Ganta Bapuji.

4.Funds for Only Believe Ministries' travel expenses.  Our vision is to one day be able to provide the airfare and hotel costs for the entire team that we take with us to India.  Right now, each of us provides our own funding and the costs continue to rise.  We want to be able to bless those that will go with us each year and remove from them the financial burden of the trip.

NEWS LETTER
Name: Ashok Ashok's father died leaving his mother to raise him. She tried to start a fish drying business but the villagers would not support her because she is a widow. Un able to care for her child, she left him at Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage. He is 13 yrs. oldThis is Abishek Bakke. Abishek had a happy family until his father died of TB. Abishek's twin brother and baby sister died the same month of his father. His mother was unable to care for the boy and put him in the orphanage. He has crippled legs and cannot walk properly. He is need of a sponsor.This is Deepika. Her father lost his eyesight and is unable to work. Another family of the village adopted his other daughter but not Deepika. Her father put her in the orphanage because he could no longer care for her. She is 9 yrs. old.This is Raja Babu. His father was a fisherman. Large wave caused a large wooden post to hit his father in the head, knocking him into the sea. The injury caused severe brain damage and he and his wife can no longer care for Raja Babu.This is Pricilla Rani Padimi. Her mother lost her mind after she lost both of her parents in one day. Pricilla's father could not leave her mother alone and soonn lost all of their money. Pricilla also became sick and the father gave her up. He was unable to care for both Pricilla and her mother. This is Siva Kumar Kondi and he is 8 yrs.old. He grew up watching his father beat his mother. One day his father got drunk and slit his mother's throat. He then killed himself. This is Sathi Babu Memala. He is 12 yrs. old. On the day he was born his father went into town to buy some baby items and was killed in an auto accident. The same day his mother was bitten by a poisonous snae and died. His grandparents raised him but can no longer due to their health.This is Sandhya. She is 9. Her father went fishing for shark and the boat was lost at sea. Sandhya had to work as a servant to survive. Her mother heard of Jahnavi's Heart Orphanage and gave her up so she could have a better life.Ravi Kumar Barre is 5 yrs.old. His father iwas addicted to drugs and alcohol. He and his wife both have incurable diseases and are dying. Ravi has no one to care for him and is need of a sponsor.
